It is a foundational principle of Natural Law that only the harmed Party is due compensation.  The government exists to maintain a court system that allows the harmed to state their case and to insure the law is fairly applied so that the accused can fairly defend themselves.  In no case does government ever have an interest in these cases because it is an artificial entity and, therefore, it does not have rights.  That means government cannot be harmed, which then means it cannot be owed damages.  Only real people have rights, and only real people can be harmed and make fair claim to compensation from the person(s) who harmed them.  Yet, today, our government routinely fines people and businesses.  When it does so, it violates the Social Contract, effectively making its action nothing more than extortion.  Here is just the latest in this long string of injustices:

Toyota to pay $1.2 billion fine for misleading consumers on sudden acceleration

This same sort of thing is routinely committed on individuals and corporations, and it is an abomination to the rule of law.  Even if the government purports to ‘distribute’ the fine to those who were harmed by Toyota, it still commits a crime by consuming a portion of that fine.  If the fine is what is owed to the harmed individuals, then it should be paid to those individuals – in direct proportion to the actual harm caused – and none of it should go to the government – not even for court costs.  The government, if it is run properly and justly, should have already accounted for the cost of the court in its tax policy.  When the government assumes it will use court fees and fines to pay for its operations, it again violates the principles of Natural Law by mandating that there must be a certain number of ‘guilty’ every year so that the necessary money can be collected to run itself.  This is just another form of extortion by the government.

On top of this, if the collective damages to individuals are this great, someone should be going to jail.  But the law does not allow for the U.S. government to charge and try the owners of the Toyota Corporation.  They are too many and live in too many different countries.  And because Toyota is a corporation, and thus, it is not real, it cannot be put in jail, either.  So nothing happens except the government fines Toyota.  There is nothing in this system that even resembles justice for the individuals who were harmed, only a system that has developed to serve the government and provide a means of slapping corporations on the wrist while making sure small companies and individuals can never threaten the larger corporations who, in reality, still fund the government officials who see to it that they never suffer real harm – so long as they pay their fines.

This should never have been allowed to develop, but now that it has, we need to accept the fact that the only way to return to Natural Law and true justice is to destroy the system we currently have and re-build it from its foundations.  There is no way to fix this piece-meal; the people who are already in charge of it have too many ways to thwart any such attempt.  And this is why our nation and the world is in such a mess: because the law has been allowed to be turned into a system of oppression rather than justice.

It is one thing to be able to look back on history and see how people fall into tyranny.  You may still wonder how people were so blind to what was happening, but you have the benefit of hind sight to help you see what they did not.  But it is another thing all together to see history as it is happening around you.  And another thing on top of that to understand what it means if and when you do happen to see it happening.  Well, we are witnessing the destruction of the United States Constitution, the rule of law and the last vestiges of mankind’s liberty and no one seems to care.  What am I talking about this time?  Yet another open act of lawlessness and tyranny by Obama.

Obama White House Quietly Amended Rules Regarding the Freedom of Information Act: Report

In a move that went little noticed in 2009, the White House quietly amended portions of the Freedom of Information Act, making it more difficult for Americans to request public documents for review.

The FOIA change came in an April 15, 2009, memo from then-White House Counsel Greg Craig,…

In the memo, Craig instructed the executive branch to let Obama administration officials review all documents sought under FOIA requests to determine if said documents involved “White House equities.”

However, nowhere in the FOIA does it say that White House officials can withhold certain documents for further review, meaning that the Obama administration effectively altered the law to justify burying public documents, the Washington Examiner notes.

 

The FOIA does not provide for the President or anyone else in the Executive to ‘change it’ without Congressional approval.  That means that Obama broke the law – again.  This is yet another in a growing string of impeachable acts committed by this tyrant we call ‘President.’

This change only went ‘unnoticed’ because the Congress refuses to perform its Constitutional duty of over watch, or to file articles of impeachment and try this criminal in the Senate.  They are too consumed by fear of impeaching a black man, or they are in favor of this sort of lawlessness because they hope to be able to sue it should they ever manage to gain power for themselves.

And then there is the media, which is in bed with this tyrant so it doesn’t bother to even look for these sorts of blazon acts of open tyranny.  The ‘media’ ceased being the press a long time ago.  Anymore, ‘main stream media’ means ‘government controlled propaganda’ and most Americans know it.   It would seem the only ones ignorant of this fact are those in the media, themselves.

It is a sad thing to see this nation torn apart, but sadder still to know that my countrymen put this man in a position where he could tear it apart.  He is a Marxist, and he said he hated this nation as it was founded.  He told us he intended to re-make it according to his personal desires.  Yet, my fellow Americans elected him anyway.  This can only be because their greed for Obama’s promises to give them something someone else earned was more important to them than their own freedom.  And to think that these same people would be the first to bring up race and the specter of slavery if anyone tried to do anything about Obama’s lawlessness.

All of this amounts to a shattering of Natural Law and the Social Contract.  There is no way our society can survive what we are doing to it.  But then, this is how people find themselves in a nation that supports leaders who throw people in concentration camps – like we did under Democrat Woodrow Wilson and Democrat FDR…

As regular readers of my blogging will know, I have developed a great deal of respect for Glenn Beck.  I didn’t always like him.  At first, I thought he was a clown and I set out to prove I was correct.  However, because I took the time to read the things Beck was talking about – and more – I eventually had to change my opinion about him.  Not only has he been honest with his audience about the things he has tried to teach them, he has been very judicious in holding back on what he hasn’t told them (yes, he has kept the ugliest stuff from his audience).  Still, today, Beck asserted that it is the Constitution that makes America different – not her people.  This is one of the most ignorant statements I have ever heard Beck make, but, rather than explain why it is ignorant, I think I will let the founders box Beck about the ears for me.  After all, who better to correct his ignorance than the men who wrote the Constitution?

While relaying details about his recent vacation in Mexico, Beck asserted that the key to what makes America different from Mexico is not the people, but the Constitution.  According to Beck, the Constitution is what allows people to be who they want to be; to do what they want to do.  He could not be more wrong.  In fact, this is the most ignorant statement I have ever heard Beck make.  I have already attacked Beck for his claim that our rights come from the Constitution in a previous post.  But, this time, I am not going to explain why Beck is wrong about the people and the Constitution.  Instead, I will let the founders explain it first and then sum up the issue with a brief comment at the end of this post.  So, without further delay, I give you the founders’ thoughts on the role of the people in the maintenance of liberty:

I could go on, but – sadly – most Americans would not recognize the names of the other founders I would cite.  But what matters, what should be self-evident, is that our founders believed that morality and virtue were essential elements for a free and self-governing society.  With them, there is little need for voluminous laws.  This is why the Constitution is only a few pages long.  The self-governing Christian had little need of man-made laws because he/she was following God’s law, and our founders – contrary to all the claims by the enemies of God – were self-governing Christians.  However, if a nation’s people are corrupt, then no written document will protect it from the result of corrupt and designing individuals.  The current state of the rule of law under our Constitution is a glaring testimony to this fact.  It is not that the Constitution has preserved what liberty remains in America; it is that the remnant of the self-governing Christians who built this nation have done so.  And this is the difference between America and the rest of the world: we once tried to live by God’s law while they have not.

Remember this truth: the more corrupt the people; the more in need of rulers they become.  And the more corrupt the State; the more numerous the laws will become.  We have the Constitution, but we no longer follow it.  So what has changed if not ‘We, the People?’ And that is why Beck is wrong!

I almost titled this one under “Tyranny in the Headlines,” because every story listed in this post represents an open act of tyranny.  However, since these stories all illustrate clear violations of natural law, I chose to use them to illustrate how the government violates natural law and the chaos that naturally results.  With that said, here are the principles of natural law and the stories showing the U.S. government in open violation of these principles:

Looking to nature, we notice that animals have the natural right to raise and defend their children.  If you doubt this, go try to play with a mother bears cubs and see how well that works out for you.  Or try it with a goose and her goslings and see if the result is any different.  That parents have a natural right to raise and protect their offspring is self-evident to all but those who wish to alter these natural laws.  And this is what these stories represent: a government attempt to alter the natural order of things by taking away parental rights:

In all of these cases, the government is claiming there is some defect with the parents, but in none of these cases has the government shown this to be the case.  There have been no court cases where a jury could make this determination: the government has just declared it to be so and acted accordingly.  That, my friend, is tyranny – not to mention a clear violation of natural law.

This story represents the government claiming that you do not have the Natural Right to Contract.  At its most fundamental level, telling you who you can and cannot do business with, and how that business can and cannot be conducted is a violation of your Natural Right to Contract with other individuals – one of the primary reasons government is created in the first place: to protect the right to Contract.

This story is about the government violating the Social Contract (i.e. the Constitution), as well as the Natural Right to self-defense.  With the stroke of a pen, the State of Connecticut has made those who seek to retain their right to defend themselves into criminals.  This is a blatant act of tyranny so egregious as to make the entire State and Federal governments null and void.  If the government will not protect and insure your individual right to self-defense, then there is no reason for government at all.

Listen to me, please.  This nation is no longer free.  This is a fact, and we need to accept it.  Our government no longer responds to the people.  It has become tyrannical.  Were they alive today, our founding fathers would have already acted to dissolve the government we have now and replace it with one that acts within the proper confines of a just government.  But, alas, the founders had the courage of their convictions.  There are few among us who can say that today, and fewer still who will actually place their lives on the line to prove it.  What’s more, we no longer have the moral foundation to do what must be done.  If we did, we wouldn’t have ever gotten to where we find ourselves today in the first place.  Still, we cannot lay down and just let darkness overtake the world.  What we must do now is turn back to the source of our liberty and seek God’s forgiveness.  Even if you reject God, you will be hard pressed to tell me that living by the Ten Commandments is a bad thing for any society.  Unless and until this nation finds its moral compass and refuses to deviate from it, all is lost.  And, without God’s blessing, we will not find that moral compass – because God is the source of moral law.  To reject God is to reject morality, and to reject morality is to reject civil society.  It’s that simple, my friend.  It’s that simple.
