The real questions about this story is, how did this shirt ever get approved by Wal-Mart, and what does that tell us about the company’s culture at the corporate level?

Walmart Removes Shirts Glorifying Islamic Terrorists

I know that people like to say you should never attribute to intent that which can be explained by incompetence.  The problem I have with that saying is that it does not seem to me that it applies at the highest levels.  Otherwise, how could a company like Wal-Mart get as big as it is and stay there?

No, I think this one is best explained by spiritual alignment within the corporate structure of Wal-Mart.

[NOTE: Yes, I am well aware that the decision to sell these shirts could have (and probably was) made by a lower level manager.  But that does not get Wal-Mart off the hook here.  The culture that would allow such a person to be hired and assume manager level is still part of the problem, and it flows from the top down.  So, I stand on my question about the corporate culture at Wal-Mart.]
