Airline Collision in D.C. (Updated 1/31/2025)

I am not going to speak to this story (not at this time, anyway), but for those who are looking for good, solid and reliable information and commentary on the story…

Here is the story:

New Videos of Helicopter Collision With Airplane Near Reagan Airport

Here are the most recent videos from two of the men who I trust most for such information and analysis.  I’ve always found the first guy to be very spot-on.  The second guy is relatively new to me, but his work is also solid (although, admittedly, he is a little dry).

Co-Pilot of Black Hawk Helicopter Involved in Midair Collision Was a Woman: Report

Contrary to what is being reported, 500 and 1,000 hours is NOT an ‘experienced’ amount of time — especially for a crew flying VIP passengers/aircraft.  On top of that, the helicopter was right of its assigned flight path and at least 100 feet too high.

In short, this is starting to look VERY bad for the U.S. Army (and the air traffic controllers).
