Here are your show notes for today’s class:

THE ISSUE

People with political agendas are using the notion off race and racism to divide the American People and, in the process, create a sense of victimhood which demands ‘justice.’  This demand for ‘justice’ then creates a demand for a government ‘solution,’ which was the whole point all along: the artificial creation of a situation which demands the advance of a political agenda which would otherwise would be rejected.

A LITTLE HISTORY

Before I am accused of “That’s easy for you to say; you’re white,” let us consider a little history.  Slavery has always existed (as has racial bias).  The practice of slavery was never so much built on the color of skin as it was the source of available people to be made into slaves.  In the U.S., this is most associated with people of African decent, but this is not the point at hand.  The point is that there were people of other skin color who were made slaves, as well as people of African decent who owned slaves in the U.S.  Therefore, it was a ‘slave culture,’ not an issue of ‘racism.’  We must understand that this slave culture was largely responsible for the creation of what we think of as ‘racism’ today.

CRITICISMS OF…

NOTE:Most of the available criticism of Cultural Relativism a philosophical in nature and, thus, they are offered in scholarly papers and books.  These formats do not readily lend themselves to the blogging format being used here.  The reader — if sufficiently interested — will have to do their own research here.

MY POSITION:

If the core claim of ‘cultural relativism’ is correct, then it is perfectly acceptable for Muslims to rape non-Muslim women, kill their wives and daughters for wearing skimpy clothing or dating outside Islam and to behead anyone who refuses to convert to Islam.

ADDITIONALLY; Racism cannot be considered a wrong, nor can apartheid, slavery, or any host of other self-evident wrongs.  Heck, even cannibalism must be considered ‘right’ within cannibalistic cultures.

IN SHORT: Cultural Relativism is nihilistic at its foundations.  Therefore, by definition, it is logically self-defeating.
